  • My Class Needs a composter to teach sustainability in food

    Launched February 5th, 2018 Project Deadline April 21st, 2018
Classroom Size 24 Students School Size 542 Students

    My Students

The school comes from a wide variety of backgrounds. Many come from a behaviour background and are sent to this school becaue their regular school can no longer program for them. Many other students are from urban areas where background gardening is just not something they have experienced. They are often hands on learners who wish to be engaged in whatever they do.

How will this project impact them?

This will help students realize how much waste they consume, but also how much they can reduce their carbon footprint by some small steps. Students will make use of composters in the classroom to help the school garden become more functional and also to engage with nature. Students will improve their stress and anxiety levels as they work outside.
