  • My Class Needs funding to experience a Grouse Mountain field trip

    My Students

My Gr.4/5 class this year loves to learn, are full of energy, and constantly amaze me. Our students come from many diverse backgrounds. Much of our population is made up of First Nations families, or families that are new to Canada with English as their second language. A Grouse Mountain field trip is an excellent opportunity for our students to explore the mountain our classroom looks out on each day.

How will this project impact them?

I find it amazing the number of students that live in North Vancouver, but have not ever been given the opportunity to explore its most impressive resources - the mountains and outdoor wonderland! A field trip to Grouse Mountain would allow the students to participate in a cultural First Nations experience, followed by a nature walk and grizzly bear guided exploration. Students will have a chance to explore and learn from trained experts, and walk away with a deeper appreciation of the land we need to help preserve in our community.
