  • My Class Needs science equipment to inspire curiosity in our environment!

    My Students

The majority of my students are ELL, some are aboriginal and many come from low socio-economic status. Each student is individual in their learning style and adds a unique perspective to our classroom family dynamics. They are an amazing bunch of students who are filled with a passion for learning, a quality I want to support! All students benefit from hands-on, experiential learning where they can manipulate, create and explore their wonders.

How will this project impact them?

I would love to use this grant to provide my students with the supplies to explore and learn in the outdoors! Students who are able to wonder and discover through hands-on, explorative and experiential learning are more engaged, allowing them to develop their curiosity and understanding. These science supplies will foster oral language development, collaboration, questioning and more, as the children work together to problem solve, discuss their observations and question their surroundings. They will also develop their core competencies while learning how to respect and care for nature as we interact with our environment. In the process of our outdoor learning they will gain an appreciation for nature and the impact they have on the world. These tools will be utilized across the curriculum, encouraging us to get outside at all points of the day! Let's get dirty & learn!
