    My Students

I have a very active class of 20 eager learners! We work best when engaged in small focused groups; allowing the children to interact and problem solve together. Like many young children of today, my students come to school having had a lot of experience with technology. They are already tech savvy from the get go! We need to be aware and cautious that we balance this out with hands-on, tactile experiences. I bought one Osmo set for the class just before Christmas....I loved what I was seeing!

How will this project impact them?

We are about to receive additional iPads for our Grade One class this spring. I would love to have the opportunity to have more Osmo units available to the children. These units are so amazing because they bring the best of both worlds; technology and hands-on, together! The interactive component of the units are engaging and allow children to utilize many problem solving skills. The different activities cover a variety of subjects such as language, math, art, and even physics! Having a small set of these units would allow them to become a learning centre in our room; which would enrich the experience even further. When children can work and talk through activities and problems together, their learning is all the richer and deeper for it.
