  • My Class Needs technology to persue their passion for coding.

Coding in middle school science class Classroom Project at Pender Harbour Elementary-Secondary School
    Launched November 27th, 2017 Project Deadline April 26th, 2018
Classroom Size 25 Students School Size 104 Students

    My Students

We are a small rural school of 72 students from grade 7-12. Our school runs a flex model that allows for students to have 2 hours a week of set passion learning. Our students have shown a great desire to seek more knowledge and skills in coding outside of our courses. As they wish to pursue coding as their passion we are in need of technology to help them in this endeavor.

How will this project impact them?

Students will technology to build a variety of robots and code them. They will complete a series of challenges using the robots and also work with them in open ended freestyle building. We will have a passion block makerspace club as well to allow more students to learn coding. The short term benefits would include the ability for all students to participate fully, solve problems and be successful with the support of each other and the teacher. Long term benefits include learning to code, logistics, developing critical thinking and creative skills.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
