    My Students

This studio has been established to focus on the demand that they would like more extra curricular opportunities. At Nokomis School we foster learning in a number of approaches.  We encourage our students to take ownership of their learning while maintaining high levels of engagement and achievement.  Based on the interests of the students we have begun to form an activities studio to foster their passion of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM).

How will this project impact them?

The main goal of this studio is to provide a fun opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge of STEAM and to interact with other students who have a shared interest in the subject.  As a school, we feel this studio will only enhance the learning potential of our students while igniting a passion that may lead to a career path.  The studio environment will be accessible by teachers and students during the school day and by the extra-curricular club after school hours. Reasons why the establishment of a STEAM studio is important. A STEAM studio can: allow students to STEAM activities in an informal environment, without the pressure of being graded; reinforce the relevance of STEAM to students’ everyday lives; offer students the opportunity to serve their community; & expand students’ leadership skills by conducting demonstrations, lab activities, or community outreach events.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
