  • My Class Needs robots to explore STEM subjects in a hands-on way

    My Students

    I teach at Fraser Heights Secondary in Surrey, BC, which has a student population of about 1450 students. The students that I teach in my Grade 9-12 Robotics and 10-12 Pre-Engineering classes would greatly benefit from the designing, building, programming, and testing of the VEX robots. I would love to provide my students with the opportunity to fall in love with STEM subjects through robotics.

    How will this project impact them?

    My students will use the robotics resources to design, build, program and test robots of their unique design. This will also help teach coding and computational thinking. I hope that my students will have the opportunity to engage in STEM subjects in a fun and hands-on manner, including the option of competing with other schools in the community. This would be an amazing and transformational learning experience for our students. This early exposure to STEM subjects could help better prepare our students for the future, as well as promote STEM careers.
