    My Students

    My students progress from no coding experience, to sophisticated computer programmers. They become versed in multiple programming languages, and become able to develop video games from the ground up. In my classroom, we develop the skills and knowledge to open the door to a post-secondary education and/or career in STEM, specifically in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering.

    How will this project impact them?

    Students will extend their education of Computer Programming from the PC onto the Raspberry Pi. Students will learn to receive the 3-Dimensional data generated by accelerometers and gyroscopes to track the motion of the device (as done on cellphones, tablets, Fitbits or Wii-motes), and react to the data in real-time. This project will teach students the important similarities and differences in software development for motion-enabled devices (versus conventional computers). With the accelerating pace of modern technology, this is an iterative view on continuously redeveloping the high-school coding curriculum, and will become an propelling capstone project for our students as they direct their future ambitions in the high-tech sphere.
