    My Students

NWSS is the only high school in New Westminster. Being the only high school in the city, we offer many different types of programs for students including IB, Apprenticeships, French Immersion, and an alternate school. Our library is a flexible learning environment that encourages creative approaches to teaching and learning. The library seeks to offer the resources and tools needed to develop critical thinkers and powerful communicators.

How will this project impact them?

In a world of growing technologies, the library seeks to provide students with the tools that will help them master the skills needed to achieve their goals beyond school. Teachers would be able to reserve space in the library to access the smartTV that allows students and teachers to wirelessly project from their smartphones to the front of the classroom. Using their phones, students can share their screens and present their projects in visual and spoken form to the class. This wireless projecting would allow students to move around the room and focus more on the visuals and the effectiveness of the message instead of standing immobile in front of the room advancing Powerpoint slides. With everyone sharing screens, everyone, including the teacher can share an idea, example, or insight.
