  • My Class Needs Lego to entice reluctant learners to English.

    My Students

Junior English is filled with diverse, creative, and exuberant learners. Many students do not find English to be accessible or intrinsically motivating. Therefore, giving the students many opportunities to learn through various activities and manipulatives allows the curriculum to become achievable to our varied student population. Furthermore, some individuals face learning disadvantages that makes adaptations a positive and advantageous way to meet their needs. Lego makes learning fun.

How will this project impact them?

Lego provides a creative and unique opportunity. It is engaging and motivating to young learners and allows them to become involved and enthusiastic in English language learning. Moreover, it is an opportunity to demonstrate that they are competent thinkers and communicators and honours the ways in which students think, learn, and grow and prepares them for a successful lifetime of learning where ongoing change is constant. We understand that not all of our learners are inspired by English for a variety of both cognitive and social reasons. Both concept based learning and the development of competencies engage students in authentic tasks that connect students to the real world. It is not enough to know about English grammar, it is important to play with it and understand how it works. Junior English creates a foundation for language and Lego will entice even the most resistant learner.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
