  • My Class Needs alphabet toys to promote literacy awareness

Literacy Centers for Littles Classroom Project at Green Timbers Elementary
    Launched October 6th, 2017 Project Deadline March 23rd, 2018
Classroom Size 20 Students School Size 522 Students

    My Students

Our school has about 570 students with approximately 75% English Language Learners. We also have a diverse aboriginal community and many of those students need extra support. Our families come from all walks of life but are mostly struggling with financial demands. Many of my students have low social skills and low English skills when they come to school.

How will this project impact them?

I'm wanting to make literacy play centers in my classroom for our students this year and for years to come. I currently have some literacy centers that I have created myself but many of them are simply too well-used. I'm looking for donors who want to help young students learn their alphabet and learn to read and write through playing. The long term benefits would be monumental as many of my students come to school with little to no knowledge about English books or letters. Thank-you!
