  • My Class Needs My class needs a light table to explore the opportunities, properties and utility of light in our environment.

    Launched September 14th, 2017 Project Deadline January 10th, 2018
Classroom Size 20 Students School Size 450 Students

    My Students

There are 20 Kindergarten (age 4-5 years) students in my classroom. They are curious, imaginative and capable individuals who bring their experiences and wonders into our co-created learning environment. We learn together by building on our experiences and exploring mediums. We question, develop and test our thinking. We express our ideas and understanding through explorative play and constructing our creative representations through multimedia.

How will this project impact them?

Exploration and play is how we learn best. In Kindergarten, our hands-on manipulation of our world is what we know and learn from in our classroom. We represent our thinking through ongoing inquiries. The use of light, to build on our inquiries, is a natural and human development from which we can build our understanding of our world and its interactions with our environment. Light provides opportunities to discover and challenge our scientifically playful minds. My Our inquiries are documented and displayed in a designated place in the classroom where we can admire, revisit, challenge new ideas and build on wonders.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
