  • My Class Needs STEM in the classroom will help students to problem-solve and think outside the box.

STEM in the primary classroom Classroom Project at Ecole Amirault
    Launched September 22nd, 2017 Project Deadline December 22nd, 2017
Classroom Size 21 Students School Size 400 Students

    My Students

I teach fourth grade students. I usually have between 20 to 29 students each year. In my 20 years or so of teaching, I've seen it all. This is what I know for sure: Students have the need to be included, to create, to be active and to learn. STEM, which in STIM in French is the perfect way to incorporate SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH into daily learning. These hands-on activities will be perfect for early finishers and kinesthetic learners.

How will this project impact them?

The STEM initiative inspires students to inquire, think, investigate, innovate and create. Students will have the chance to build objects that exist in the real world. They will compare, explore, collaborate and think outside the box. The STEM manipulatives in the classroom will allow students to work together on various projects that are both motivating and hands-on. STEM (SCIENCE-TECHNOLOGY-ENGINEERING-MATHEMATICS)

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.

I have been teaching for the past 18 years in a French school. I have experience in Kindergarten, grade 1, grade 4 and grade 6. I have also been a literacy teacher for a few years and vice principal. These experiences have helped me grow and I've learned a lot about myself as a teacher....
