  • My Class Needs Makey-Makey tools to promote creativity and problem solving

Exploring & Creating with Everyday Objects using Makey-Makey Classroom Project at R C Garnett Demonstration Elementary

    My Students

My classroom has 30 grade 4 learners who love to create and explore. Last year we explored the world of coding and I was blown away by their creativity and willingness to problem solve. I quickly realized that my students learn best when they are give the chance to experience their learning in a hands-on way. I think by exploring the world of Makey-Makey, I am excited to provide them with opportunities to collaborate, problem solve, explore and experience.

How will this project impact them?

My class has a variety of learning, social (difficulty working with peers and solving problems, and emotional needs (anxiety, lack of confidence). My goal for this project is to help develop my students problem solving skills in a creative, engaging and explorative way. My students emotional needs often make it difficult for them to work with others in positive ways. I want to five my students the opportunity to collaborate with their peers in challenges that engage them and promote problem solving. Many of my students have difficulty persevering through tasks and by using the Makey-Makey tools, I hope that my students will being to see their ideas come to life and feel successful. My hope is that they will them feel more confident in their abilities and ideas and will be more willing to try more challenging problems in the future

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds.
