  • My Class Needs noise cancellation headphones to allow for different learning styles

    Launched August 25th, 2017 Project Deadline January 10th, 2018
Classroom Size 27 Students School Size 426 Students

    My Students

I have a wonderful group of 27 Gr. 4 and 5 students. These students are able to collaborate and work independently, but some find that it is necessary for them to work quietly and independently throughout the day. Given the opportunity and responsibility to choose headphones when they are needing that extra focus in class will only help them learn to be self-regulatory learners in the class.

How will this project impact them?

The headphones will be used for students who feel that they might be needing some quiet, independent work time in the classroom. They would be available to all students, and the students will be guided as to when they might need to use them, and why they might be useful for students. While some students enjoy collaborative work, others struggle, at times, with staying on task, and these headphones would be an option for them in order to refocus, work on their own self-regulation strategies, and focus on the task at hand. My classroom is a flexible classroom, so students are able to learn with flexible seating, and I believe the headphones would also provide another opportunity for the students. They will be able to choose if a quieter setting might be more beneficial for them during certain times of the day.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
