  • My Class Needs meaningful manipulatives to spark their curiousity and interest

    Launched September 9th, 2017 Project Deadline January 10th, 2018
Classroom Size 250 Students School Size 211 Students

    My Students

Our school is a French Immersion IB world school located in West Vancouver with 12 divisions for a total of 250 students. Students are eager to learn, to explore and are very curious but are also challenged at the same time with appropriate social skills (arguments, lack of patience, everyone speaking at once, not listening, sharing). Our students like to be challenged through meaningful activities and games in a fun and safe environment.

How will this project impact them?

Students will understand that adventure challenge activities can be very challenging and in order to be successful they must persevere through challenging moments that they are sure to confront in this unit. Every single activity planned in this unit is challenging to each person individually, but also to the group as a whole. This related concept of perseverance will be visited through group discussion. Important and challenging moments that they will confront will be dicussed on teams but also as a whole class. Throughout this unit, student must be able to demonstrate teamwork skills as they will always be working in groups. Conflict is sure to arise as they devise plans and communicate/share their ideas. More specifically how communication, trust and having an openmind are the essential building blocks that form the foundation of any successful team.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
