  • My Class Needs iPad stands and an iPad to stabilize iPad filming activities

iPad Stands and an iPad mini for student documentation Classroom Project at Lynn Fripps Elementary
    Launched August 26th, 2017 Project Deadline January 23rd, 2018
Classroom Size 450 Students School Size 426 Students

    My Students

All of the students at Lynn Fripps come to technology class to learn the ADST curriculum and how to safely utilize technology in the classroom. The students love learning with technology and have really taken interest in using stop motion as a way to display learning. They face challenges when using stop motion, because they cannot hold the iPad without moving it and it takes the impact away from the stop motion and more on the background movement.

How will this project impact them?

With the instability of the iPad (students holding the iPad) the stop motion feature is not accurate. The background is constantly shifting or moving and it takes the focus off of the stop motion & does not accurately display the motion impact. With the stands, the students could place the stands where needed, then just focus on manipulating the stop motion objects. The camera would stay in place and we would not lose impact. It would also be used for interviewing, as a document camera, filming, practicing speeches, making commercials etc. The iPad I am applying for is to be used for the student leadership program. There would be a group of students documenting school activities and posting it to our school website to keep families informed of what is happening in and around our school.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
