Would you be excited if your teacher told you that you would be playing robot mini putt? Of course you would! The middle school students of Canada's first planned community, Don Mills, love hands-on learning opportunities that allow for creative problem-solving. They want to learn how to code, but they need an engaging project such as Sphero SPRK+ Mini Putt to do so.

How will this project impact them?

My goal is to expose all students, via co-teaching and clubs, to coding in a way that is highly engaging. I am requesting 6 Sphero SPRK+ units that will be used to teach our students how to code via the creation of mini putt holes. Via this construction, students will learn to code their Sphero SPRK+ units to navigate their course(s). Students will be striving for that hole-in-one, and they will be learning lots of coding as they play. The long-term effects of this are great as coding is a new reality for our student's futures, and we need to ensure that they are learning basic coding abilities as part of their elementary education. Ultimately, this project will SPRK+ an interest in coding in a way that is currently lacking in schools.
