    My Students

Adelaide Hoodless is a mosaic: a mosaic of unique children coming together in an empathetic and supportive community. We are a student body composed of a variety of cultures, languages and learning styles always engaged and busy and supporting others. Our community is, benefiting so much from hands on learning experiences. Students who are normally withdrawn from regular classroom experiences are engrossed in opportunities to explore through building, drawing and constructing.

How will this project impact them?

The article below of Delta High School visiting our kids for a construction project is the perfect example: As a high-needs inner city school, our demographics demand that our instructional practices cater to the multiple intelligences specifically kinesthetic learning of STEM. Makerspaces are key to allowing our students to access the curriculum in the most authentic and engaging manor. Your grant will provide this opportunity because we lack the financial liability to support a makerspace.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.

We are a team of teachers who have recently been inspired by Makerspace projects and Growth Mindset throughout the HWDSB. We have have had the opportunity to 'play' with a variety of tools and jumped on the chance to integrate this into our school programming. This is us: Ellen McCauley...
