  • My Class Needs science tools to make sense of their world

    Launched May 10th, 2017 Project Deadline January 10th, 2018
Classroom Size 20 Students School Size 271 Students

    My Students

We are a kindergarten classroom in an inner city school. Presently our school consists for 30% ELL, 10% first nations and 5% students with special needs. As 4-6 year olds make sense of the world they need tools to enable them to guide their discovery. These resources will enable students to learn to play alongside and with their peers in an inclusive classroom as the share observations about the world in which they live.

How will this project impact them?

These resources will open opportunities to make observations, share observations, compare and contrast different perspectives about the physical world in which we live. The short-term benefits will be a greater awareness of the world as well as sharing different perspectives. In the long-term students will gain confidence to share ideas, hold an opinion and perspective and back this with physical evidence.

    * Fulfillment Materials: This covers the physical costs of processing teacher and student thank-you letters and pictures, including printing, postage, labels, envelopes, cover sheets, etc.

** Payment Processing Fee: An average of fees charged to MyClassNeeds for processing donations (e.g. credit card payments through a secure server). We have worked hard to select the most secure option for the cost.

*** Optional Donation: An optional donation to support MyClassNeeds which is calculated at 15% of the project’s price tag. The optional contribution supports the work we do to engage teachers, build awareness, and to generally run MyClassNeeds. To do that we need a world- class website supported by strong business systems and processes that improve over time.
